The weather isn’t very good at the moment at Ortona, under a low and heavy sky, but the rain has stopped since Wednesday evening and we hope for the sun to breakthrough for the Final day. Nearly 180 drivers took to the track (31 in KZ, 42 in KF2 and KF3, 64 in 60 Mini).

In testing for KZ1 and KZ2, a series of diverse and varied technical problems affected Mirko Torsellini (CRG / Maxter) with a loose wheel plus Davide Fore and Arnaud Kozlinski in CRG / Maxter, Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex), Gianni Gazxurelli (FA Kart / Vortex) all having mechanical failures, while Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) lost her chain when the engine inadvertently moved.

Pole went to Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) with 1.00.826, which only Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex) was able to approach on the final lap by 0.13”. Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) set the third fastest time by 4 / 10. The two rookies at CRG, Felice Tiene and Jordon Lennox-Lamb, are doing well for their first time, in 8th and 9th respectively.

Note that there are only three drivers with Tec-Sav engines at Ortona because of the Essay GPO race and the simultaneous preparation for Las Vegas. The lucky drivers are Intrepid: Bas Lammers, the pole sitter, Charly Bizalion and Beitske Visser.

Energy Corse had two of its drivers ahead in KF3, the Russian Vasily Romanov was fastest (1.05.112) against Robin Hansson, as well as pole in KF2 for Dennis Olsen (1.02.162).
