It was a great start for Antonio Giovinazzi (PCR / Parilla) for the final of the KF2 Bridgestone Cup. Nicolaj Moller-Madsen (PCR / TM) was in the wake of team-mate, ahead of Dennis Olsen (Energy / TM), Pavel Rudakov (Tony Kart / BMB), Kirill Korolesky (Tony Kart / BMB) and Pedro Hiltbrand (Kosmic / Vortex) who got caught up at the start. Cristofer Zani (Kosmic / Vortex) maintained the pace of his leader. Rudakov attacked Olsen for third place, but the Norwegian replied. The Russian tried again, successfully, and Hiltbrand was back in the game.

Meanwhile, the two PCRs took off, a few lengths in front Giovinazzi and Moller-Madsen. Rudakov advanced to third, Olsen 4th and Hiltbrand 5th, with Korolesky and Zani in the wheeltracks. Moller-Madsen seemed to be closer to Giovinazzi before halfway. Indeed he could attack from a distance back under braking at the hairpin before the straight and take the lead with more than 10 laps to go. Behind the leaders, the situation had changed. Hiltbrand recovered third place and was fairly well ahead of the two Russians who dominated both Kosmics of Zani and Andrew Tang, while Radim Maxa, on an unusual Intrepid / Maranello was eighth. The unfortunate Maestranza was pushed out by Juusi Kuusiniemi and retired.

Giovinazzi was not far behind Moller-Madsen and with five laps to go, anything is possible, as they sports journalists who drive rarely racing machines say so often. The last corner came, and it was heated between the two drivers, so Giovinazzi tried to take the best line in the last corner and exited much faster than his opponent who nonetheless managed to cross the line in the lead. A good job. The young Hiltbrand completed the podium in a  convincing debut in KF2.
