Camponeschi doubles in Race 4

Things have changed since that strange race 3 of the KF1 World Championship at Sarno. Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) was excluded and started last. Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) would start from 17th place, Alexander Albon (Intrepid / TM) sixth. Flavio Camponeschi and Ignazio D’Agosto were a fully Tonykart front row, while Kosmic / Vortex were featured in the second row with Sébastien Bailly and Zdenek Groman.

Groman made a great start, but Albon was even better and led from the first corner. Camponeschi passed Bailly to gain third place. Karol Basz (RK / BMB) returned strongly over Bailly and captured fourth. D’Agosto was 10th, De Vries was coming back gently or cautiously for now. Lock and Tiene retired after a collision.

Albon escaped, he was the fastest on the track, and Camponeschi took on the 4th lap. De Vries returned to the top 10 on lap 6 and then set the fastest lap, the rocket set off. He passed Roussel under braking at the hairpin at the bottom of the circuit and closed on Agosto. Camponeschi gained back ground on the leader Albon with the fastest lap. Basz took Groman to take third.

Camponeschi was rapidly gaining on Albon. He took the lead under  braking on the 12th of the 15 laps of the race. De Vries attacked Bailly who resisted, but finally gave up sixth position. Camponeschi got away from Albon. De Vries attacked Yu Kanamaru (Tony Kart / Vortex) but he decided not to let it go. Roussel took advantage of the fray to overtake D’Agosto.
