Competition is now started at Essay with timed qualifying for the U18 World Championship on an almost dry track. There was intermittent rain in late morning, between sessions, not enough to implement the classification group by group, but still enough to delay the drivers in the third group whose poleman was only 13th overall by 4 / 10 from the Dutchman Dave Blom (Intrepid) and the leader of group 2, Leo Roussel (Sodi).

First in the championship, Pyry Ovaska (Maranello) took third position ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi (PCR), Tomi Katajamäki (Maranello) and Hubert Anthoine (Sodi). Matthew Graham (Zanardi), very fast in Italy, is in 15th behind Stefan Reiner (Intrepid) and ahead of Antoine Lepesqueux (Sodi). Easthope (Sodi) 19th, Mäntylä 20th, Savona 22nd, …
