Overall, this first European KF3 Championship has been very encouraging for Felix Nilsson. Thanks to the speed of his Intrepid/Parilla, prepared by LM Karting, the young Swedish karter was able to deliver the best performances of his career against a very competitive group of drivers. Now that he has proven his speed on the track, he will need to build more experience to get results in races.
In timed qualifying, it became clear that Felix had not come to Spain to get a tan. 7th in his series, he concluded 0.2 seconds from the best drivers. Unfortunately, track conditions changed at the end of the day and the two series that preceded his were faster. As a result, he finished 33rd overall and had to start from the 7th row in the qualifying phases.
In the first heat, Felix’s kart did not perform at the top and he set average times. But a good start and an excellent race allowed him to battle for the top 10, before concluding with a 16th place. In the three other qualifying heats, Felix had some technical problems during start and was hampered by a crash. However, he made himself noticed for his stunning speed: two second times and a fastest lap time rewarded him of his progress. Given the high level of competition, it was a fantastic performance!
However, it was not enough to secure his qualification for the final phase. He started from the 9th row in Final B, but had to retire early. In any case, Felix showed his excellent burst of speed at this European meeting and will soon be able to exploit his skills at best to achieve the much expected results.
