On 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th September the Genk track will host the third round of the CIK-FIA World KF1 Championship as well as the World Cups reserved for gearbox categories.

While KZ1 has enjoyed an event of this standard for quite a number of years (it was landed by Bas Lammers in 2010), the World Cup for KZ2 is new. It is highly likely that this maiden edition will be very successful in view of the interest shown by Drivers who are keen on these 125cc gearbox karts. Taking into account that the European Championship of the same category already gathered nearly 110 Drivers at Wackersdorf (DEU) last June, one can expect even stronger participation in the Belgian Limburg at the beginning of September.

This World Cup for KZ2 is open to B or C-Senior licence-holders who took part in a CIK-FIA Championship event over the last 12 months, or in a minimum of 3 national KZ events over the last 12 months in the country where their licence has been issued, or in 3 Zone KZ events over the last 12 months. If the KZ category does not compete in a country, its KZ licence-holders are nonetheless eligible to apply for a KZ2 World Cup entry as long as they can prove that over the last 12 months they took part in a minimum of 2 KZ events entered on the international sporting calendar.

Drivers wishing to participate in the Genk event, which will look like a big festival for gearbox karts, are invited to enter via the following link: www.cikfia.com

Entries will be open until 29 July 2011 at midnight.
