It was nice and hot for the first Wackersdorf prefinal this Sunday afternoon, for KZ2. Mirko Torsellini (CRG / Maxter) and Fabian Federer (CRG / TM) were on the front row ahead of Henri Kokko (Ninar / TM) and Kevin Illgen (CRG / Maxter).

Federer started 1st ahead of Illgen and Kokko. Torsellini was fourth, followed closely by the French driver Clement Da Silva. Torsellini was losing ground back to 7th place, Da Silva was fourth ahead of Joel Johansson and Jesper Wernersson. After a difficult start, to say the least, Alexander Arrue was soon to be overtaken by the leaders.

Federer had a small lead of 0.5” from Kokko who took Illgen who was himself hounded by Da Silva. He also took third position on lap 7. Kokko took the lead on the next lap but Federer did not let him escape. In 20th, Morgan Weber sset the fastest lap before Kokko increased the pressure.

Shortly after the halfway point, Johansson took 4th position, followed by Torsellini who could be threatened as Wernersson was not far off either. Kokko seemed to control the situation by maintaining a gap bigger than ½ second to Federer, while Da Silva seemed solid in 3rd place. The top 6 had a respectable gap with the peloton led by Kritijan Habulin (CRG / Maxter). Kokko won the race ahead of Federer and Da Silva, Johansson 4th, Wernersson 5th and Torsellini 6th.
