The hierarchy of the European Championship for KZ1 at Wackersdorf after the qualifying heats, all being run on Saturday, is a bit surprising. Not that Paolo De Conto (Energy / TM) has no place at the top, but rather the disappointing performances of some favorites which changed the game for the moment. Each driver only had two heats and it is obvious this means the slightest problem is costly.

The Tony Kart / Vortex pair Rick Dreezen and Marco Ardigo did not underperform as they are in 2nd and 3rd places. The first driver powered by Tec-Sav, Jérémy Iglesias (Intrepid / TM) is in an interesting in fourth from Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex) who is very fast. Alessandro Bressan (CKR / TM) is having a successful comeback to competition in 6th ahead of Tony Lavanant (PCR / TM) who is fairly satisfied with the development of his machine, Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter), the first of the official drivers from CRG, and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter) who was not displeased with his 9th place and especially the performance of his kart.

Do not forget though that some competitors may be able to recover significantly in the finals. That of course includes Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter), in 16th, caught in a clash in the first round but who won his second race. Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) is 17th for similar reasons, and Roberto Toninelli (Lenzo / TM) is 18th. Yannick De Brabander (Parolin / TM) is 12th, he set the fastest lap in his second heat and has plenty of performance. Thomas Mich is 19th, Beitske Visser 22nd, Sauro Cesetti 23rd, Ben Hanley 24th, Antonio Piccioni 25th, Kozlinski 27th, … so many drivers to follow closely in the prefinal.
