Victories in Portimao for CRG

CRG official drivers had the opportunity to place their karts in good position during the whole Portuguese weekend at the WSK Euro Series, with final victories in KZ1 and KF3. It was first of all Arnaud Kozlinski who opened the games by setting the best time in KZ1 timed qualifying, very happy to conclude with his factory-mechanics Maxter ahead of all his opponents. Then it was Jonathan Thonon’s turn, who won Final 1 by affirming his dominant status in the category. Meanwhile young Mirko Torsellini made himself noticed in KZ2 with a pole position and a final second place.

On Sunday, Thonon seemed well on his way to a double success, but a transmission problem interrupted his triumphant march in Final 2 and allowed Kozlinski to climb on the second step of the podium. Torsellini also had a few problems but left Portimao with a second place in the KZ2 Championship classification, just like Thonon, who was second in KZ1.

It took Max Verstappen just the time to get accustomed to the Algarve circuit and his new Parilla motorisation to reach the top of KF3 with astonishing ease. Leader after the qualifying heats and winner of the pre-final and final, Max has now an extraordinary advantage in the Championship.

Michelle Gatting showed again her strong potential in KF2, but the problems she had during the race slowed her progression, while Jordon Lennox-Lamb provided solid evidence of the progress made by CRG/Maxter in KF1, with his 7th place in Final 2.
