Ocon at last !

The light fell below the high cloud cover for the start of the KF3 final. The track was still very slippery and wet tires were mandatory in spite of the light rain. Max Verstappen (CRG / Maxter) managed to go full throttle on the outside and came out on top. Nice shot. Callan O’Keeffe (FA Kart / Vortex) lost some places to George Russell (Intrepid / TM), Pedro Hiltbrand (Kosmic / Vortex) and Robin Hansson (Energy / TM). Esteban Ocon (FA Kart / Vortex) replaced him quickly in 5th. Erwan Julé (Intrepid / TM) was 11th in front of Dorian Boccolacci (Birel / BMB).

Ocon clocked the fastest time and won a place at the expense of Hansson. Verstappen lost ground and suddenly it’s Russell who led on the 4th lap ahead of Ocon and Hiltbrand. But of course, Verstappen soon pulled himself together with the fastest lap and taking 3rd place. Sensing the threat, Ocon proceeded to attack the leader and he was in the lead at the halfway point. The three drivers were now neck-and-neck.

Verstappen joined the fight in the fast right after the starting line and passed Russell, successfully, but it cost a few hundredths. In 5th, Lasse Sorensen (Birel / BMB) made a great recovery and returned in the wake of O’Keeffe. Ocon and Verstappen ran in the same footprint. At the beginning of the last lap, Esteban Ocon always seemed to control the gap, being fastest in the first sector. The long-awaited victory came in the most beautiful way, facing the most formidable of his opponents, Max Verstappen. O’Keeffe was 3rd, Sorensen 4th,  Scott 5th.
