The Dutch team AVG Racing has chosen the WSK Master Series in La Conca to kick off its 2011 season. A prestigious track as well as a high-level group of participants: all the conditions were there to test the new line up. Tony Lavanant, European KZ2 Champion in 2008, has replaced Manuel Renaudie as lead driver in KZ1 together with Sinan Van Der Raad, while Dylan Davies and Roy Geerts will race in KZ2, which means that there will be 3 new drivers out of 4 at the wheels of PCR/TM karts.

The weather made things slightly more complicated for technicians and drivers, with rain falling until Saturday and a difficult track on Sunday. But Anton Van Grunsven, the team principal, was satisfied with team’s performance: «We have two rookies in KZ, Sinan and Roy. The former is a regular in Super KF, while the latter comes from Rotax DD2. As for Tony, he has to get back on tracks after a two-season absence from competition. He was very fast, though his results were not as good as expected. Dylan lost a side pod during timed qualifying and had to start at the end of the pack in the heats. Despite all this, he proved to be as good as the best 2 or 3 drivers in KZ2, though he was slowed down by a slight collision in the second final».

AVG Racing is now getting ready for the next event, the first round of the WSK Euro Series due to be held in Sarno on 15 and 16 March.
