Victory for Cucco, Sendin 2nd

The weather was still beautiful for the start of the KF2 prefinal. The remains of the mud dried considerably in the second right turn, so the race should go well in these circumstances. The front row was shared by the Russian Stepan Karasev (Tony Kart / Vortex) and the Belgian Sami Luka (Energy / TM), but we expected some climbs through the pack.

In an agitated start, Luka and Karasev lost a lot, Cucco took the lead and pulled away. There was a warning thar Cucco was penalized by 3 seconds. This put the French driver Victor Sendin in 2nd place ahead of a group headed by the angry Luka who eventually emerged on lap 7. He headed Nortoft, Rudakov, Beccaria and Giovinazzi.

But Nortoft and Rudakov passed the Energy pilot. Sendin and Cucco built a substantial lead over their pursuers. Cucco crossed the finish line first, with enough lead to keep first place despite his penalty. Sendin was second by 1.6.” Nortoft 3rd, Rudakov 4th, Luka 5th, Giovinazzi 6th.
