The rain stopped and the sky cleared slightly and it was finally time for first final for KZ. De Conto spun on the famous right after the start, and Rick Dreezen was in the lead ahead of Ardigo. But the race organizers stopped the race for a restart. Not all of the competitors saw it, some stopped and some others were coming at full throttle: result, a big crash on the start line. There was damage, the CKR / TM of Zanchetta for example, but he was not the only competitor affected.

Approximately 20 minutes later, a new start was given, while the day started to darken. De Conto (Energy / TM) got the lead, but veered off at the hairpin, leaving Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) to get away in the lead from Douglas Lundberg (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Gary Catt (Tony Kart / Vortex). Ardigo retired prematurely. Tony Lavanant (PCR / TM) was well in the shot in 5th place.

Lundberg lost 2 places, putting Catt in second position ahead of De Conto. Lavanant took 4th. Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) was running in midfield, in 13th, but we thought that her equipment was not as competitive as usual. Dreezen had more than a 4” lead after 5 laps. Jorrit Pex (CRG / Maxter) made a strong attack and took  4th position, while Lavanant ended up 6th.

Jesper Wernersson (Tony Kart / Vortex) was one of the fastest on the track. It closed on Pex and stole his 4th place. On lap 12, De Conto attacked Catt for 2nd. Wernersson then went for 3rd place, but Catt countered.

Great victory under the floodlights for Rick Dreezen from Paolo De Conto and Gary Catt. Wernersson finished 4th and the 1st KZ2, Pex 5th, Lavanant 6th, Hajek 7th.
