Dreezen comfortably in the lead

Dreezen comfortably in the lead

As well as Dreezen’s dominance, rebounds from Pex and Ardigo were expected in the third and final KZ2 heat. Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) was first into the first corner ahead of Roberto Toninelli (Lenzo/TM), Mishel Georgiev (CRG/TM), Jorrit Pex (CRG/Maxter) and Marco Ardigo (Tony/Vortex). Ardigo soon found himself 4th ahead of Riccardo Negro (DR/Parilla) and Sauro Cesetti (Birel/BMB), while Pex dropped to 9th. In 11th, Gazzurelli set the fastest time of the day.

On lap 4 Dreezen took off, with Toninelli tailgating while Ardigo and Cesetti passed Negro. Pex was back on it and was now fastest. Ardigo took 2nd in mid race. Georgiev returned to attack Cesetti and Toninelli, in 3rd. Pex attacked Negro without success so far, but took Cesetti and grabbed 6th.

It was another fine victory for Dreezen followed by Ardigo. Toninelli finished 3rd ahead if Cesetti, Georgiev, Pex, Pizzuti, Piccoli, Negro and Gazzurelli who was in 10th. Ben Hanley (Maranello/Maranello) recovered to 18th and Alessandro Piccini (Tony/Vortex) 20th after their retirements in the previous race.
