The last round of the WSK World Series in it’s current form, Egypt is slightly disorientating. Paradise for scuba diving, Sharm El Sheikh attracts sunlovers on the beach or poolside. Some storks have also fallen in love with temperatures which are still very high. The heat will be an important element in the competition, as will the wind which often slows things by bringing sand onto the track.

It must be said that the field is not particularly large, some categories are even destitute like KZ2 with 9 drivers entered. 14 is the number of both KF3 and Super KF, KF2 amounts to 18, making a total of 55 drivers.

Ghibli Raceway is in a mythical location close to the desert, surrounded by palm trees and backed by a rocky spur. The track is beautiful, but very curvy, especially for KZ, which didn’t suit Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) in free practice. Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) got faster and faster in response to his teammate Dreezen while Gianni Gazzurelli would stay in the top 5.

Koko wore a big smile after stepping out from his CRG / Maxter Super KF: he was visibly pleased with his performance on a track that could particularly suit him. Of course, Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) was a spoiler by a few fractions of a second. KF3 was the preserve of Max Verstappen (CRG / Maxter), while Sébastien Bailly (Kosmic / Vortex) clearly showed that he would not miss his chance of victory against the Tony Kart / Vortex of Ignazio D’Agosto and Luke Varley.
