Abbasse in front until the rain

Again, the front row was 100% French with Norman Nato (CRG / Maxter), on pole, next to Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter), winner of the 2009 Monaco Kart Cup in KZ2. But Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) was in 3rd place at the start, so nothing was settled. 19 laps were planned for this pre-final.

Abbasse was the leader of the first lap ahead of Nato, Rowland, Lammers and Thomas Mich (Birel / TM) who made a legendary start. Jérémy Iglesias was in 6th and Visser 7th for Intrepid, and Manuel Renaudie (PCR / TM) 8th. The duel was in full swing at the top, Nato, in 2nd, set the fastest time. Lammers returned to third position on lap 4, but was more than 2” off his opponents. Iglesias took 4th ahead of Rowland.

Abbasse escaped by more than seven tenths from Nato, while Lammers regained half the gap on second. Nato also lost valuable time on lap 7 and found himself under the direct threat from the Flying Dutchman. Shortly after the halfway point, the “slow” signs were triggered because it started raining. Paolo De Conto (Energy / TM) had time to get back in 5th place ahead of Iglesias and Mich. Later, Lukas Trettenbrein overtook Patrik Hajek and Beitske Visser. The red flag stopped the race at lap 10 when the downpour increased. The powerful 125 gearbox are undriveable under these conditions. Abbasse was ahead of Nato and Lammers before the interruption.
