A few drops of rain spiced up the start of the second pre-final for the U18 World Championship which was already complicated by a completely reversed order. Kovalenko and Speck started ahead of Roussel and Gram. Stefan Riener already retired before the lights went out. Suninen and Dennis were at back of the grid. Roussel finished the first lap ahead of Jones, Stirling was 5th ahead of Easthope, Mäntylä 9th, Dennis 17th, Suninen 22nd. Vincent Fraisse, heckled, ended up last.

John Norris took fifth behind Jones and Stirling. Marchesan took the lead ahead of Stirling. Sathienthirakul was already seventh ahead of Alex Baron and Dennis. Stirling took the lead at the halfway point. Suninen, Köykkä and Nylund came through and were grouped around 11th. Marchesan was currently second, Jones 3rd, 4th Top. Mäntyla was in the 5th group and was held back from making a full recovery. Dennis moved up at turn 9 and Suninen took 3 places at once, just behind his opponent.

Victory went to Stirling from Marchesan, Jones, Sathienthirakul, Dennis and Suninen. The hierarchy of the Championship was not really shaken up, the title was still there for the taking in the final.
