Norris wins in the sun

And though the sun is there, dazzling almost blue sky at Val d’Argenton at the start of heat D / E. Two Finns at the front, as Niklas Nylund (Maranello) took the lead from Ville Mäntylä (Energy) on the first lap which was also favourable for Alex Baron (Sodi), fourth fastest, but currently 12th. John Norris (Intrepid) was third followed by Kasper Larsen (Haase) who started 9th, but Leo Roussel (Sodi) was struggling in 5th place.

The top 4 could be held in a handkerchief. Norris passed Nylund for 2nd place. Edward Jones (Maranello) was 5th by 1.6”, tailgating Pyry Ovaska (Maranello). Nothing was certain in the top three where gaps remained close to 2 / 10. Norris took the lead on lap 7, followed by Nylund, Larsen and Mäntylä who had now been caught by Jones. Norris escaped, Larsen took 2nd place. Jones overtook in an attack.

Baron finished 8th in the wake of Roussel, further up than he started. Nylund slowed on the second last lap, leaving Norris to win the race. Larsen finished third from Jones and Mäntylä.
