Intrepid double in Prefinal

Could Jorrit Pex (CRG / Maxter) compete with Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM)? Initially,  Lammers took off in front followed by the former while Hawksworth (Maddox / Parilla) took Iglesias (Intrepid / TM) for 3rd place. Manu Renaudie (PCR / TM) was already fifth, then fourth on the next lap. Then, Pex retired letting Abbasse Rowland and Geurts pass. Iglesias took second position, Renaudie passed Hawksworth. Hanley went off at a corner.

It remained tight in the leading pack until seventh, Yannick De Brabander (Intrepid / TM). Antonio Piccioni (Parolin / TM) was high up after passing Dylan Davies (PCR / TM). The list of drivers still racing declined over the laps. At mid-race, there were 12 pilots missing out of 27 … Renaudie closed on Iglesias (2 / 10), 4 / 10 himself from the leader Lammers.On lap 10, Renaudie was second behind Lammers and much faster than him. His teammate at PCR, Simo Puhakka, set the fastest time and attacked 8th, De Brabander, hard.

Lammers responded to the threat from Renaudie 3 laps later with a sudden doubling of his lead. Piccioni passed Hawksworth for 4th and was very far off Iglesias. Yet Iglesias attacked Renaudie to take second place at the finish and a double for Intrepid. Piccioni was 4th, Davies 5th and Patrik Hajek (Tony Kart / Vortex) 6th.
