Orudshev on pole in KF3 at Genk

The temperature is very high early on at Genk for KF3. The fastest time of the first group were set rather early in the session. Egor Orudshev (Intrepid / TM) led Damiano Fioravanti (Tony Kart / Vortex), Pierre Gasly (Sodi / Parilla) and Dennis Olsen (Energy / TM). Loris Spinelli (Tony Kart / Vortex) was only on the 24th row. In the final session, Julé Erwan (Intrepid / TM) improved and passed Gasly in third position, Lucas Auer (Maddox / Parilla) finished 5th and Olsen was ahead of Robert Visoiu (Tony Kart / Vortex) in 7th. The best time went to Orudzhev with 54.848.

The second group was slightly slower. Times continued to go down to the end and the battle was fierce between Peter Hoevenaars (Intrepid / TM), Tom Lorkowski (Energy / TM), Nicolai Sylvest (FA Kart / Vortex) and Roy Johnson (Zanardi / Parilla) at the beginning. Then Lukas Machunskas (Tony Kart / Vortex) went on the attack and became untouchable by linking the fastest laps. Hoevenaars finished up 2nd to Niklas Tiihonen (Birel / Parilla), Jake Dennis (TopKart / Parilla), Johnson and Esteban Ocon (Exprit / Vortex).

The third group was dominated by Max Verstappen (CRG / Maxter), quiet in free practice and unleashed in timed qualifying. Ville Mantyla (Energy / VKR) and Alexander Albon (Intrepid / TM) fought for second place which went to the Finn ahead of the British driver. Hubert Anthoine (Tony Kart / Vortex) did not seem to have too much bang for the moment with the 21st time in the group.

Overall victory went to Orudshev to Fioravanti, Julé, Gasly and Auer, drivers from the first session. Verstappen was only seventh, Visoiu 9th, Albon 11th, Hoevenaars 13th …
