With a first line all black and a second row all green, the tone of the final was set in KZ2: Tony Kart would try to counter the dominance of CRG. Marco Ardigo was one of the leaders, returning to the fore after an exciting early rally. The situation had gone against Rick Dreezen. At CRG, the situation was somewhat similar with Jonathan Thonon and Gary Carlton.

The start was delayed as a result of a strong gust of wind that caused problems. Thonon did not make the best start, he was fourth behind Carlton, Dreezen and Ardigo, which was good for the show! On lap 2, there was a good overtaking move between Beitske Visser and Roberto Toninelli from the third row inside the curve in front of the stands.

Thonon tried several attacks on Ardigo while Carlton had arranged a little space in the lead. It went to Thonon on lap 5, slipstreaming at the end of the straight. Ardigo did not let him get away, but the CRG was clearly faster. Dreezen was 7 / 10 ahead of the Belgian champion. Starting in 16th and last place, Roberto Toninelli (Lenzo / LKE) was unleashed: in mid-race he was 5th behind Ardigo.

The top three drivers were grouped within 4 / 10: Carlton’s lead had melted, and Thonon attacked Dreezen like a diabolo. On lap 10, Thonon was in the wheeltracks of Dreezen. There were six laps to go. Lap 12: Thonon took 2nd. He attacked the leader Carlton under braking and made it stick. On the last lap, Carlton was surprised by an attack from Dreezen and the karts touched. Dreezen got ahead. Victory went to Jonathan Thonon ahead of Rick Dreezen and Gary Carlton.
