The grand De Vries final

Both Kosmic / Vortex drivers, Armand Convers and Ben Cooper, were on the front row of the grid for the final in Super KF. Arnaud Kozlinki (CRG / Maxter) was 2nd, outside beside Sauro Cesetti (Birel / BMB), so the task did not look easy. For once, Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) started from the inside, but the third row. With a 20-lap race, however, a lot can happen…

Convers, Cesetti, De Vries, Cooper, Kozlinski, Fore, these were the positions after the start. But it didn’t last! De Vries took second before the end of the first lap, Cooper disappeared to the bottom of the table, and Koko was third in front of Fore, Puhakka (PCR / TM) and Cesetti. De Vries returned to attack Convers who was already 1s ahead. The pack was heated and there was now Libor Toman (Birel / BMB) in 6th ahead of Gary Catt (Tony Kart / Vortex), Cesetti and Zdenek Groman (Maranello / Parilla). On lap 6, De Vries was almost two tenths from Convers. He took him on the next lap, the bottom righthander. Catt and Toman returned to attack Fore.

De Vries took off in the lead, Catt successively overtook Fore and Kozlinski before the halfway point to take 3rd place. However, he was more than 5” off Convers, himself 2” behind De Vries. Toman passed Fore in the last few laps, but he didn’t give up and resumed his 5th place on lap 16. The fight was not over. The leader Nyck De Vries was also the fastest on the track. Toman closed right up again on Fore for 5th.

Big win for Nyck De Vries, Armand Convers 2nd, 3rd Gary Catt, Kozlinski 4th, 5th and 6th Libor Toman Davide Fore.
