KF3 Prefinal: Verstappen on his own at the front

Max Verstappen (CRG / Maxter) was on pole, Robert Visoiu (Tony Kart / Vortex) at his side, for the start of the Prefinal. Verstappen set off flawlessly with Christian Sorensen (Birel / BMB) in its wheeltracks, but Daminao Fioravanti (Tony Kart / Vortex) took second place before the end of the first lap. Pedro Hiltbrand (Kosmic / Vortex) was in fourth position ahead of Robin Hansson (Tony Kart / Vortex), Dennis Olsen (Energy / TM) and Nicolas Beer (Tony Kart / Vortex). Visoiu was only 11th.

Vertsappen had already escaped and set the fastest time. Sorensen threatened Fioravanti for second place, Visoiu, in 7th, raged in the wake of Olsen. At the halfway Verstappen had nearly a second ahead of his pursuers. Fioravanti was now at a distance from Sorensen, 3rd. Visoiu rose to 6th position and it was Jake Dennis (TopKart / Parilla) who was close to Olsen. The battle went up a notch for ninth place between Johnson, Beer and Rossel.

Visoiu continued to rise: he took Hansson to gain 5th place and was clearly the fastest on the track. Hiltbrand could have been within reach. But the checkered flag interrupts his dream of 4th place. Verstappen’s landslide victory was in front Fioravanti, Sorensen and Hiltbrand.
