De Vries at the finish

Convers’ start was no surprise to anyone, it turned their heads, while his teammate Cooper remained stuck on the outside and ended up fourth and overtaken by Kozlinski and De Vries. Koko hit the dust twice and with dirty tyres had to give way to De Vries and Cooper. He was now closely followed by his teammate Tiene.

De Vries held off Cooper, Tiene outbraked Koko for 4th place, which was unpalatable to the French driver. Their duel would last until the finish. After the halfway point, De Vries accelerated the pace, passing Cooper and gradually returning to Convers. On the last lap, he attacked under braking in the slow part of the circuit and took the win ahead of Convers and Cooper, then Tiene and Kozlinski.
