Held in the midst of the summer heat, the second meeting of the European KZ1 Championship looked very promising for SRT driver Anthony Abbasse. The pole position conquered in timed qualifying on Saturday morning was a clear sign of the high potential of Sodi chassis, which have been patiently fine-tuned since the beginning of the season. After winning one of the qualifying heats and conquering the first row for the start of Race 1, Anthony Abbasse’s morale was sky high.

 

Unfortunately, Race 1 did not go as expected with Dunlop tyres on the overheated track of Varennes. Abbasse finished 5th with pretty heavily degraded tyres. The team adjusted tactics for the second race, but it was already too late to be able to fight for leadership. Managing as best as he could the difficult grip conditions, Anthony conquered the 4th place in the Championship standings.
