Chaumat would love to steal second place from Grosso, but it was not possible at this time. Abbasse got away, setting the fastest times. The peloton stretched. Benoit returned to Chaumat. Morgan Weber (Merlin / TM), Sylver Garcia (Intrepid / TM) and Yan Pesce (Energy / TM) could have been covered by a handkerchief in 7th place. Benoit enjoyed a great opportunity to overtake Chaumat now followed closely by Ragues.

At the beginning of the last lap, the suspense lay in the duel between Benoit / Chaumat while Weber claimed sixth position. Abbasse won the race by nearly 5” ahead of Grosso. Benoit finished 3rd ahead of Chaumat and Ragues.
