It’s a beautiful late afternoon on the track at Coloane – Macau after mixed weather in the morning. It seems this is the normal situation. The drivers have been complaining of a severe lack of grip off the racing line, despite the efforts of our Chinese hosts to clean it with a broom or a machine. But the tarmac problems do not seem too serious. You could even say that all is well.
The photo shows Marco Ardigo in the 1st session of the afternoon. We can see the differences in the surface visible in the background.
The times recorded are only indicative since one never knows what the team is testing. However, one can not help but comment … Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) were very fast as were the Maranello / Maxters of Vainio and Groman. De Brabander (Intrepid / TM) appeared in the top 5, while Maïsano (LH / Maxter) also set some fast laps. Fore has been the fastest driver at CRG.
Now they have to stay patient, in their own way, until tomorrow morning for the official qualifying that will reveal the true performance of each driver. Good night …
