Engine failure, penalties, exclusions; the qualifying heats of the KZ1 World Cup at Sarno have not been short of incidents. The starting grid for the pre-final reflects this situation with the unchallenged dominance of Jérémy Iglesias (Intrepid / TM) with 3 wins and a 2nd place. There are 6 engines from Tec-Sav in the top 6!

Iglesias’s leadership did not diminish the performance of his opponents : Salvatore Gatto (Intrepid / TM) was very incisive with a lot of success. He will start in second place. Next come the regular drivers, not slow, but not necessarily the fastest. Arnaud Kozlinski (CRG / Parilla) was 3rd after a full course yellow flag. Norman Nato (Intrepid / TM) took a beautiful 4th position on a good kart. Jaime Alguersuari (Intrepid / TM) continued to impress in 6th position.

The 1st non-Sav-Tec is Roberto Toninelli (CKR / TM), 7th in front of Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) who drove at the limit to minimise damage. Very quick, Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) and Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) were relegated to 9th and 10th positions following engine failures, but they remain at the top of the list of favorites.

There was disappointment for Tony Lavanant (Energy / TM), the first non-qualifier after a harsh exclusion.
