Not that the Brazilian driver is not up to par, but the Italian Raffaele Marciello was certain to win the race before retiring on lap 4. That’s when Guilherme Silva (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the advantage from Danil Kvyat (Tony Kart / Vortex), while Carlos Sainz edged into 3rd position. Michael Heche (Intrepid / VKR) failed to keep pace and was eventually passed by his opponents.
Enzo Guibbert retired, but Mathieu Jaminet (Maranello / Maxter) took back 5th position behind Heche and Sainz. Victor Sendin (Birel / TM) continued to make himself noticed, and was 10th to Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla). A few tenths behind the leader, the battle was raging between Kvyat, Sainz and Jaminet. De Vries was by now back to 5th place. On lap 10, Jaminet passed Kvyat to gain 3rd place. Silva crossed the finish line with 3” ahead of Sainz, and Jaminet harvested a beautiful 3rd place ahead of Kvyat and De Vries.
