After a long day of racing, some drivers were pleasantly surprised to rank highly in the intermediate on Saturday evening. Manu Renaudie (Gillard / Parilla) was pleased with 1st position, although he is wary

of the start procedure from this position. He will be attacking tomorrow to collect a lot of points in the championship. Not difficult physically, the Zuera circuit punishes reckless attacks, because it takes at least a lap to clean off the tyres after moving off the racing line, so the gaps widen fast.

Consistent and tactical but without the the best equipment, Aaro Vainio (Maranello / Maxter) took advantage of the situation to gain second place. Looking much calmer on the track than usual, the young Finnish driver intends to retain his competitive advantage tomorrow, despite the fast drivers who will start behind him. Aaro is also not suffering too much from the Spanish heat which is not common in his country, except in the saunas.

Yannick De Brabander (Intrepid / TM), while not particularly visible, was also happy with his 3rd place as it reflects the development work done on the chassis since Thursday. He knows how to adapt to the changing track conditions during the day. He appreciated the width of the track which allows overtaking attempts with little risk of damage. He did not win, but focuses on the championship.

To imagine what might happen during the race on Sunday, you should follow the 4th place of Jason Parrott (Birel / Parilla), not very fast at Zuera yet, but consistent. Without enough experience at this level, Mardin Benjamin, 5th, has a very fast Kosmic / Vortex, reflecting the interest of the factory and Vortex tuner  Olivier Maréchal in the category. The Finnish Maxter Daniel Lindholm, 6th, is able to compete as demonstrated by his victory in 1st heat. As for Michael Ryall, 7th on a Topkart / Parilla, he reminded everyone that he is still able to run at 110% of the capability of his machine.

Groman, in 8th, has shown good potential, but not enough yet to repeat his feat at La Conca. Rowland, in 9th, won the last race and could well be in a better position in the final. Kunranta was often the fastest Birel in 10th and owes his position to a retirement. In 11th, Foster-Jones has not yet found the right recipe to be fast on this hot track.
