Was it better to go out in the first session like Renaudie? Was it better to keep the rubber fresh for the second, like Rowland? Or was it wise to quietly wear the tyres in for a few laps in the first session and aim for the top in the second, like Vainio?

The Super KF Qualifying results in the furnace-like conditions at Zuera did not have all the answers to the various tactics chosen by the teams. In any case, Manu Renaudie (Gillard / Parilla) had the fastest time (1’00”638), a fraction ahead of Oliver Rowland (LH / Maxter). There was a pleasant surprise with the 3rd place for Mardin Benjamin (Kosmic / Vortex) who was delighted to get a result despite the engine breaking late in the session. Miika Kunranta was the fastest Birel / Parilla in 4th, while his teammate at MGM Racing, Jason Parrott, the championship leader, was 15th, more than 3 tenths back.

Aaro Vainio and Zdenek Groman placed their Maranello / Maxters in 5th and 6th positions. There was also a good position for Luca Giacomello (Zanardi / Parilla), 7th with Dunlop tires, from Puhakka and De Brabander.
