Barrabeig ahead of De Vries

Strategy was also important in timed practice for KF3. In general, the second session, which attracted more drivers, was fastest, but there were notable exceptions.

The Spaniard Gerard Barrabeig (Intrepid / TM) took pole with 1’02”190 after only completing four laps. Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla), however, set his best time in the first session and was behind Barrabeig by 26 milliseconds. Two other Dutch drivers took the 3rd and 4th places: Lukas Machunskas (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Peter Hoevenaars (Zanardi / Maxter). Raffaele Marciello (Intrepid / TM), with 5th, took the advantage from Danil Kvyat (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Pedro Hiltbrand (FA Kart / Vortex). Mathieu Jaminet (Maranello / Maxter), who improved by 3 tenths in the second session, had an excellent 8th position ahead of Joey Elkerbout (Zanardi / Maxter) and Federico Savona (Birel / Parilla) who completed the top 10. It is noticeable that the big favorite, Carlos Sainz Jr was not at the front: at the moment he is in 12th place.

The French drivers Alexandre Baron and Rémy Deguffroy at Tony Kart were in 29th and 30th position, Pierre Gasly (Sodi / Parilla) was 51st and John Filippi (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 57th of the 76 drivers.
