The Czech driver Hajek once again made the best start, but Tilloca clinged to his wake, leading Piccoli, Hawksworth and Cane. The leader’s gap was already considerable on the second lap, when Hawksworth temporarily took 3rd place. Piccoli replied immediately. Cane also took Hawksworth in an impressive pass. Lombardo, starting 15th, attacked strongly and was approaching the top 10 after Hawksworth’s exit.

Well before halfway, Tilloca joined Hajek and tried to overtake twice, but in vain. He eventually found an opening on lap ten. Hajek successfully came back past though. Meanwhile, De Conto took 5th place behind the dreaded Cane. He took his time and launched an unstoppable attack 2 turns later. At the same time, Tilloca had to retire in despair with a mechanical problem. Lombardo now entered the top 5, past Cane to take fourth position. De Conto worked like mad, but he had no time to get back with Piccoli.

Therefore the perfect result for Patrik Hajek will have a major effect on a championship that will only run for two events.
