Carlos Sainz, on a FA Kart / Vortex here, won his two qualifying heats, while Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) has only taken one victory and second place. However, De Vries’s times are significantly faster than Sainz’s. In short, it was clear that the final will be competitive, but first they must get through the semi-final stage.

Some drivers are well placed to play the outsiders: Kvyat and Dalewski in group 1, and Heche and Barrabeig in group 2, to name only the top-ranked on Saturday evening. For the only French drivers in the race, Jonathan Hélias (26th) and Maxime Bourelly (28th), the objective will be to finish inside the top 17 in the semi-finals to reach the final.
