Qualifying heats: A tough fight at Sarno

The second event of the WSK International Series is the focus on Saturday on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli di Sarno (SA). The long 1699 meter track has been a factor in the first phase of qualification testing between qualifying and the heats. There are 34 finalists in each of three categories from the 200 pilots registered.

Suvanto_Inter.jpgThe six heats for KF2 did not yield a clear hierarchy as 5 different drivers have shared the victories. The sole driver who garnered two wins is the Finn Petri Suvanto (Birel / Parilla), who is determined to gain places in the overall standings after his unlucky performance in the first round at Muro Leccese. After the pole position won by the German Andre Hauke (Birel / Parilla), the heats were won in by the Belgian Sami Luka (DR / Maxter), the British Max Goff (Maranello / Maxter) and Mackenzie Taylor ( FA Kart / Vortex) and the Neapolitan Felice Tiene (Kosmic / Vortex), who stressed the importance of a result on his home track.

In KF3, the chase to be leader is open. The Dutchman Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) arrived at Sarno as leader of the KF3 Championship, but he is facing stiff competition. After the pole position for Lucas Wolf (Energy / VRK), two Tony Kart / Vortex drivers won two races each: Spaniard Carlos Sainz and Italian Loris Spinelli. De Vries and the British driver Alexander Albon (Tony Kart / TM) have been credited with a victory each. Nothing, however, is decided, because there are still four heats to go before the finals on Sunday afternoon.
