The programme of the Winter Cup is significantly different to other events: timed practices were completed on Friday afternoon and the first qualifying heats have started. Another feature is the classification of the fastest times in the first group, (with four in in KF2) the second in the next group, etc … In view of the speed differences over the groups, this seems to be a very good thing. The conditions were good, but the temperature remained cool and fell very quickly in the afternoon to reach 0° at the end of the day.

Matteo Viganò (Birel / Parilla) was clearly the fastest of the 112 competitors in KF2 with a time of 43”574. The Swede Viktor Oberg (Gillard / Parilla) is in 2nd position and Brandon Maisano ended up in 3rd place ahead of Felice Tiene (Kosmic / Vortex) and Ignazio D’Agosto (Tony Kart / Vortex).

There been poor performanes from the drivers who were very well placed two weeks in back in the WSK. Smarrazzo posted the 33rd fastest time, Ceccon 35th, Basz worse in 39th, and 48th for Ben Cooper.

The meeting has not been easy for the French drivers. Alexandre Arrue had an excellent return to competition by posting the 15th fastest time. Guillaume Barbarin went well with 27th and Paul-Loup Chatin was 44th. Then, things will be complicated for Nils Bernardet in 77th, Loïc Reguillon in 83rd, Alban Authié in 89th and Nelson De Carvalho with the 109th time.

For them, the competition will be tough in the heats where they must certainly not fall off.
