Michelle Gatting, Loyal Supporter of Julie Tonelli

15-year old Danish Michelle Gatting is now in KF2 with her new Maddox chassis by Peter De Bruijn. German Vice Champion in the Junior series in 2008, she is now racing with the colours of Julie Tonelli’s “Fondation pour l’Enfance” for the third year in a row. She has spontaneously decorated her new kart with Tonelli’s pink butterfly stickers: this is definitely a sign.

Her first weekend of the 2009 season was not particularly positive. But she has the potential to succeed, thanks to her driving talent and to her equipment, given that Michelle reached an encouraging 13th time in timed qualifying. The qualifying round started well with an 8th and then 5th place. But then she had a 10” penalty and left in the following heat. At this level of competition, there is no room for mistakes and the qualification for the final was gone… She will most likely return to the top of the ranking if Peter De Bruijn manages to obtain some competitive engines.
