Unipro delivers Data Logging for WSK

The organization behind WSK has chosen Unipro as a supplier of Data Logging system for the control of clutches and engine revolutions in the 2009 series. Unipro has developed the system UniLog for the purpose. UniLog has been tested and developed in cooperation with the Danish Automotive Sports Union (DASU) and was last tested at the Danish Karting Championship in 2008. Now the international WSK organization also decided to use the system.

unilog.jpgThe UniLog system is used both for controlling the clutches and the max. RPM with its Data Logger box, a RPM sensor and a speed sensor. When the system is mounted on the kart both engine rpm and speed will be logged. It’s logged very accurately when cluctch connects and whether the RPM curve and the speed curve are parallel after reaching the specified RPM level. The choice of Unipro is due partly to the very high accuracy of the system, and the fact that the system makes it very easy for officials to make the nessecary control. When mounting the UniLog system, the officials simply choose which class the driver is in, then all values for that class is predefined in the system.

Red or green light will decide whether there is a need for inspection
The Data Logger box has a red and a green light as both driver and official can easily see when the driver comes to pit after a heat. If the lamp lights red, some of the limits are exceeded and the data must be checked. If the light is green there is no need for further inspection.

Wireless transmission of data for inspection
The officials responsible for carrying out inspections, is equipped with a special version of Unipros handheld Data Analyser, so they easily, quickly – and wireless – can download data from the boxes, which lights up red. Subsequently, the data may be analyzed directly on the Data Analyser, or can be printed or transferred to a PC.

Uniform and fair control with a minimum of time spent
Results of the elections is that drivers are guaranteed a uniform and fair control of data, and organizers can secure it with very little time and effort spent.
