Pole for Toman and Birel

The two heats were particularly important for KF1, who will not compete in a Prefinal on Sunday, but only a grand final.

Libor Toman won the first heat after brilliantly passing Gary Catt at the end of the race. Ben Cooper also managed to take Catt to regain second place. Alessandro Bressan, starting 8th, came back to 4th position. Arnaud Kozlinski, meanwhile, took 12 drivers to finish 5th, ahead of Will Stevens. Jason Parrott, Antonio Piccioni and Yannick De Brabander retired in the early rounds.

The second heat was also a highly contested race and full of suspense. Ben Cooper’s engine didn’t start. Libor Toman took first position from Gary Catt on the 2nd lap, Alessandro Bressan also attacked him and Will Stevens was not far away. Catt came back quickly and threatened Toman. Arnaud Kozlinski also made a rapid comeback.

Florian Alfano overcame Yannick De Brabander to gain 6th place, ahead of Luca Giacomello, and Matt Truelove lost ground. The fighting raged as the 4 in the leading group changed positions several times a lap. With astonishing mastery, Toman made a last-minute attack on Stevens in the lead and won his second race. Catt finished 3rd with Bressan very combative and Koko nearby.
