In KZ1 too, the rain had a big influence on qualifying. The first sessions therefore counted for nothing, with the average time around 1’08”. In the second sessions, Jonathan Thonon (BE, CRG/Maxter) posted the fastest time of the group with 54″927 Roberto Toninelli (IT, Intrepid/TM) posted the second time, Bas Lammers (NL, Topkart/TM) the third followed by Manuel Cozzaglio (IT, Intrepid/TM) and Danny Bleek (NL, Spirit/TM).

However, conditions improved slightly for the second group and times went down. Already holder of the fastest lap on the wet track, Alessanro Manetti (IT, CRG/Maxter) repeated it in the dry with 54″536 and beat Rick Dreezen (BE, CRG/Maxter) and Norman Nato (FR, Intrepid/TM). Arjan Kievitsbosch (NL, CRG/TM) made a good comeback with fourth fastest, just ahead of Thomas Mich (FR, Birel/TM).

 

Thonon is eighth overall, Tonineli 17th, Lammers 18th, Cozzaglio 19th and Danny Bleek 20th. Again, we can expect fighting in the qualifying heats tomorrow.
