Not easy, KZ2 in the rain …

Even the start was a story… Three times the orange light postponed the start. After clutch problems and drivers out of place the red flag was finally waved.

After a few repairs, the drivers returned to the track, still well, but more reasonable. This time the karts were able to take the start. Marco Ardigo made a spectacular start, ahead of Jonathan Thonon, Arnaud Kozlinski, Michael Ryall and Ken Allemann. Six competitors went off the track at the wide fast curve, including Joffrey Demanse and Benjamin Bailly.

Mich-samedi.jpgMorgan Weber, Enzo Zefirini and Anthony Abbasse closed up, which benefited Abbasse. Zefirini disappeared soon after, betrayed by his throttle cable and saw his chances of taking the title disappear. Thomas Mich was in the race after his Semi-final retirement but started from the last row and was by now in the top 15.

Ardigo was on his own, a few lengths ahead of Thonon. But behind them the trio of Kozlinski, Ryall and Allemann were having a stormy race. Abbasse moved close to them and managed to overtake Allemann. Mich’s speed seemed to have dropped off and his recovery ended with 12th position, earning him 32 places.

The podium went to Ardigo, Thonon and Ryall and the fastest lap was by Abbasse. Kozlinski was in third over the line but was disqualified after a problem with a yellow flag.
