Rain at Varennes-sur-Allier

The curse of the year is continuing at Varennes for the last round of the 2008 French Championship: not a single meeting has been run without rain this year !

The free practice continued in the rain yesterday, dry in the morning but rain again at the end of the day. Not all drivers tested with transponders on but the times collected may give some information on the strongest drivers.

In KF2, Lacaze, Benedetti and Chatin were quick on slicks, while Barbarin, Bailly and Bouzana posted the best wet laps. In the Juniors, Maisano was faster than De Ridder in the wet which is a novelty! Maisano was also quick in the dry. Picariello, Danzey and  Helias or Belmaaziz, Kyvat and Gigorenko alsp appeared at the top of the table. There was even more secrecy in KZ2, but the CRGs of Kozlinski and Thonon seemed to be ahead. It is expected that there will be a battle with the Tonykart factory, including World Champion Marco Ardigo, but also with the favourites for the French Championship…

At the request of the drivers, the warm-up tomorrow will include two sessions per class before the start of timed practice at 10:40am. With or without umbrellas, from then on we’ll see more clearly.
