Birel won three races on this humid Saturday at Suzuka in KF2, with the two wins from Jack Harvey supplemented by that of Takamto Katsuma, in addition to the good results from other drivers from this manufacturer. The reds love the rain! Harvey took a seven second penalty in the final race for a slightly too fast start, but he was still second behind Ryo Otani, also on a Birel.

Giacomo Patrono also gave them some points with his two second places, Otani was not far away with a victory and a fourth, and nor was Katsuta (first and fifth). Another one of the favourites, Petri Suvanto, experienced a difficult day: 15th as a result of a collision and then failing to start in the second, Petri can only go upwards. Camponeschi took a seventh and a fourth place.

Matteo Vigano’s engine wouldn’t start in the first heat and he was 19th in the next, which now puts him quite far back. At Maranello, Giaguaro Nero was third, then he fell to 14th in the last heat with a lack of grip. Kiyoshi Nakano was in a nice sixth position at the end of the day. We are expected to see  the positions more clearly after the intermediate classification.
