Ardigo on top in the rain

Ardigo-M1.jpgForè led the first lap of the first KF1 heat, while Marco Ardigo despatched an overheated Sauro Cesetti. Ardigo braked perfectly in front of the stands and took the lead of the race. At the bottom of the circuit Gary Catt, who started 12th, was up the inside of Fore and was now third, on a very well set up Tonykart.

Cesetti was the driver to go highest on the kerbs, allowing him to retain his fourth place. Shoji Sato was fifth for a long time, but couldn’t resist the resurgence of Jason Parrott, known to be fast in the rain since his win at Angerville in the WSK. Kazuya Ishii took on Alessandro Bressan. Libor Toman went off onto the grass and was left in last position.

Catt and Fore modified their lines to be careful of the kerbs which are very high here. At the same time, Parrott was retaken by Ishii on lap seven. Will Stevens was back in action – would he join Parrott? Two laps later, Ishii retired with mechanical problems and now the gaps were significant at the front of the field. Toman managed to gradually catch up with last place.

Tonykart took first and second with Ardigo and Catt ahead of Fore. Cesetti was fourth, Parrott fifth. Stevens followed then Bressan, Inoue and Bradley.
