With beautiful hot weather and a slightly cloudy sky, the conditions were excellent at Angerville for the first KF1 race. Jack Te Braak and Arnaud Kozlinski, on the front row, made a very good start, but Te Braak crossed the line at 57kph instead of the permitted 40kph. In the early laps, Yannick De Brabander fought for the lead with Te Braak, with some beautiful but deadly passes. Kozlinski was slower at the start and was passed by Gary Catt and Matias Laine. Marco Ardigo lost his rear bumper and had to stop to fix it. By then Kozlinski was back in the hunt – passing the slowing De Brabander then Laine before coming closer to Catt.

Behind, Armand Convers took the fastest lap and fifth position, followed by the Birels of Kunranta and Libor. Abbasse peaked with ninth position well ahead of Varutti. Kozlinski overtook Catt, then Te Braak threatened and moved ahead on the ninth lap, achieving the fastest lap. Abbasse retired next to the cafe with a mechanical failure and then Te Braak was dramatically penalised by 10 seconds for a jumped start. The classification was updated immediately and Jack dropped to 16th place while remaining second on the track.

De Brabander continued his descent and fell out of the top ten. Convers, in fourth, tried to take Laine, but it was Libor who was forcing his way to join the French. Kozlinski had by now pulled out a three-second gap on Catt, and Te Braak was up to 11th place.

Arnaud Kozlinski (CRG/Maxter) won the KF1 Race 1 by five seconds ahead of Gary Catt and Matias Laine.
