The KZ2 final was suspenseful, most importantly because of the rain that came three laps from the end.

Norman Nato led at the start as in the prefinal, followed by an incisive Abbasse. Krypciak held off Thomas Mich and Enzo Zefirini. Nato widened his small gap and Kryciak started to attack Abbasse. He passed the Sodi driver in mid-race, and in the aftermath Mich also passed Abbasse. He was losing ground and Zefirini also benefited.

Kryciak came closer to Nato. He went in at the bottom of the circuit but Nato would not give way and Krypciak went off the track slightly. That’s when it started to rain, and in the confusion Mich found
himself ahead of Nato and Zefirini, and then Letailleur and Courquin passed too. But Mich didn’t like these conditions, while they were well-suited to Abbasse.

Zefirini, who has been at ease in the rain in the last few races, moved into first. Mich went off the track. Letailleur, in third, was threatened by Abbasse, who made a beautiful pass on him to snatch second from the Mirage pilot while things were bleak for Courquin. The end of the race was good for Ken Allemann in eighth and Michael Ryall in ninth.
