2nd Senior Heats

rudently, Jerome Bourquand prefers to take the outside when avoiding any clash. Going off 26th, he loses some places on the first lap before moving calmly up to 16th. Jerome was happy with his times, moving to within a tenth of the lead instead of a full second on Thursday morning. He worked on the weight distribution and his chassis was much more balanced. During the race, his trick, coming from experience, is to look five or six drivers ahead and to anticipate as much as possible.

Joffrey David had a good start from 19th and gradually gained positions until the fifth lap where he was violently pushed off the track. “I was binned in a big way,” he said. From 13th, he found himself 23rd and failed to regain a single place. “I did not have enough before, and the kart is still not quite good enough at exiting corners. But it is still faster, I am one tenth off the best, although there is still a risk I will go into the repechage.”

Alexandre-Benoit Bessac acknowledges taking advantage of positions on the inside of the starting grid to get a good start. It has not changed his talent for taking the lead in a race but he was able to settle for second place when the Briton Russell passed. “After the crash in the first heat I wanted to be absolutely sure of it.”
