Team France does the job in Rotax in Brazil

Although almost all the drivers of Team France were delighted to have won a ticket for the Final, after getting one for Brazil, they did not fail to comfort Rudy Champion (59th), who was unlucky throughout the meeting.

It must be admitted that Rudy qualified for the World Finals in Rotax Master, but he had to race with the young drivers. His mission was difficult. Rudy, however, managed several great gains, alas tainted by spoiler penalties.

His PKS team-mate Paul Fourquemin made an impressive comeback in Friday’s super-heat. “I was 41st last night, I had no choice, I had to stop taking spoiler penalties!” When I came back to 8th with a 13 place improvement, I secured my place in the Final ( 28th overall) But what is also very positive is the track performance, as I was as fast as most drivers in the lead group.”
Bastien Borget is also part of the great achievement of Team France. In the top 10 of his three heats, he was still performing at his peak in his super-heat. “I had a great start, I had a very fast pace at the start, I was even close to overtaking for 2nd, and then I got slightly jostled and lost some places. I will stay positive.” Bastien will start 12th in the Final!

The game was far from won for Franck Lavergne, relegated to 61st in Qualifying. But afterwards, we followed his effective feedback with interest. Already back to 34th on Thursday night, he has not lost anything in the super-heat to stay in the group of finalists. Mission accomplished with motivation and determination, but also a great reward for a driver who is always generous with encouragement for other Team France members.

Paolo Besancenez attacked the super-heat with a magnificent 2nd place and the fastest lap in the race. “We really worked in the right direction, I have a very good feeling with the equipment, it has to last. I would have just liked for this 2nd place to move me up a little more in the hierarchy. I’m going to start 10th in the Final.”

Nicolas Picot was less optimistic, regretting a engine that was a slightly low in performance according to him. “I had a great start to the race, I was 5th, and I was unable to maintain this position, but I struggled to the end and dropped to 14th. I lose a few places overall and I will have to start 13th in the Final.”
