Organised over a period of eight days, straddling two weekends, the Rotax World Final always offers a unique schedule. Serious events start from Monday, 26th November with the first Free Practice. Here is an opportunity to look at the schedules of this slightly crazy week…

• Monday, 26th November: Three free practice sessions per driver, 15 minutes each from early in the morning from 7:35, eight minutes in the late morning and again eight minutes in the afternoon. The schedules have been adapted to this part of the southern hemisphere, where the sun rises early and sets shortly after 5pm!

 

• Tuesday, 27th November: After the administrative and technical controls, as well as the briefing for Thunder (electric), the rest of the day is taken up with Free Practice: three sessions of eight minutes, including two in the morning. The Thunder makes its first outing. A briefing for each category is organised at the end of the day at 15:30.

 

• Wednesday, 28th November: Seventh and last free practice session (eight minutes), then we have the official Timed Practice session for eight minutes each, from 10 to 12:20. In the afternoon, the first round of Qualifying Heats for all runs from 12:55 to 4:10 for 10 laps (9 in Mini and 7 in Micro). The Thunder will complete three Free Practice sessions of 8 minutes. Another briefing will completed Wednesday.

 

• Thursday 29th November
7:33 – 9:38: Warm-up 8 min
9:53 – 13:03: Qualifying Heats 2
13:08: Free practice 5 Thunder 8 min
13:21 – 13:31: Micro and Mini Briefing
13:51 – 16:26: Qualifying heats 3
16:31: Thunder Qualifying 8 min (session 1)
16:50 – 18:00: Briefing category by category except Micro and Mini

 

• Friday, 30th November
7:33 – 9:51: Warm-up 8 min

10:06 – 12:26: Prefinals A
15 laps or 14 laps for Junior, 12 laps for Mini and 9 laps for Micro
12:31: Thunder Qualifying 8 min (session 2)
13:21 – 14:56: Prefinals B
15:01 – 15:11: Prefinal Thunder 7 laps
15:26 – 16:36: Briefing by category (except Micro and Mini)
Return of equipment for unqualified drivers

 

• Saturday, 1st December

7:43 – 9:14: Warm-up 8 min
9:25 – 11:25: Drivers’ Presentation
12:00 – 12:10: Final Thunder (electric) 8 laps
12:25 – 12:45: Final Micro Max 12 laps
13:00 – 13:20: Final Mini Max 14 laps
13:35 – 14:00: Final Junior Max 16 laps
14:15 – 14:40: Final Senior Max 20 laps
14:55 – 15:20: Final DD2 Master 20 laps
15:35 – 16:00: Final DD2 20 laps
16:50 – 17:35: Award ceremony
20:00 – 02:00: Closing evening
