European final heats at Essay

The sun was constant on Sunday morning for the last Qualifying heats of the FIA ??Karting European Championship – OK at Essay, and the temperatures were still pleasant.

Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM) was the big loser of the E-F heat as he had to retire while Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) won against Andrea Rosso (CRG / TM). Juho Valtanen (Kosmic / Vortex) was back to 3rd position. Jorge Pescador (Praga / TM) was 6th in front of David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex), while Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM) was 11th.

Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM) defeated Noah Milell to win the C-D heat and Mattia Michelotto (KR / Parilla) took 3rd place ahead of Hugo Sasse (KR / Parilla). Evan Spenle (Kosmic / Parilla) gained five positions in 7th place, but Franck Chappard (Redspeed / Parilla) dropped to 16th.

The final heat, A-B, looked like a Prefinal between Dexter Patterson (KR / Parilla) and Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex). The two drivers came into contact at the first corner, Patterson kept the lead, but Thompson was 3rd behind Zane Maloney (FA Kart / Vortex). Further back, Hannes Janker (KR / Parilla) lost ground. Thompson pushed to return to his teammate, but he tried a little too hard and dropped to 7th. Patterson had a clear victory over Maloney, Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM) took 3rd place, Thompson finished 6th, Janker 9th, and Roman Stanek (Kosmic / Vortex) 12th.

According to Kartcom’s unofficial intermediate ranking, the result of the final heat was pole position for Pattersonbwith Thompson alongside him, Nielsen 3rd, Maloney 4th, Haverkort 5th and Bradshaw 6th. Janker is 16th, Stanek 23rd, Valtanen 26th and Hiltbrand 34th.
